Rice cake geometry
Snap a round rice cake into halves, quarters and angles.
I can name parts of a circle and know that a quarter turn is 90 degrees.
A math video lesson with a free worksheet and answer key for teachers
About the video
In the video a round rice cake is snapped into halves, quarters and angles. At home 2 to 4 players and a caller use one rice cake each and a ruler to show 6 calls, from a semicircle to a full 360 degree turn. A full circle is 360 degrees, so a half has a straight edge of 180 degrees and a quarter has a right angle of 90 degrees at the centre. Three quarters together make 3/4 of the circle, which is 270 degrees.
