Is it divisible by 7?
Jump to YES or NO and learn a smart trick to test any number for 7.
I can decide if a number is divisible by 7 and use the double-and-subtract trick.
A math video lesson with a free worksheet and answer key for teachers
About the video
In the video players jump into a YES or NO square to show whether a number is divisible by 7. At home 4 or more players tape two squares on the floor, and a caller reads 12 numbers from 28 to 161 while the jumpers choose a square.
A number is divisible by 7 when it splits into groups of 7 with nothing left over. For big numbers, double the last digit and subtract it from the rest: if the answer is in the 7 times table, the number is divisible by 7, for example 161 gives 16 - 2 = 14.

Safety
Play on a non-slip floor in socks or trainers, and leave 1 m between jumpers.
Tip for the adult
After the game, ask your child to use the trick on 119 and 143, the two numbers players most often get wrong.
