I can find a fraction or percentage of a fraction, like 25% of 1/3.
A math video lesson with a free worksheet and answer key for teachers
About the video
In the video slices of rye bread are cut into fractions of fractions and percentages. At home 2 to 4 players and a caller each use 2 slices, a blunt knife and a ruler to cut 6 calls, from 1/2 to 75% of 1/2. A percentage is a fraction out of 100, so 25% is 1/4 and 75% is 3/4. The word of means multiply, so 25% of 1/3 is 1/4 x 1/3 = 1/12, and on a 12 cm slice 75% of 1/2 is 4.5 cm.
What your child learns

You need
1 caller and 2 to 4 players. Each player has 2 slices of rye bread (call them slice A and slice B), 1 cutting board, 1 blunt butter knife and 1 ruler.
Safety
Use a blunt butter knife, cut on the board and away from your fingers. Rye bread contains gluten: check for allergies.
Tip for the adult
Ask your child to measure the 1/12 piece and check it against 1/12 of the slice length, for example 1 cm on a 12 cm slice.
